This page describes these steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most important task is for each\naccepted author to transform their paper, pictorial, artwork report, poster,\ntool demo report and graduate symposium submission into the format needed for\nthe C&amp;C21 conference proceedings. To do this you, the authors, can continue\nto work in either Microsoft Word or LaTeX. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support you in this process, ACM has been working hard to create a usable and accessible experience for Microsoft Word authors, while adding new features to archival formats. More information about this and how ACM prepares publications can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/word-template-workflow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/word-template-workflow<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, ACM continues to revise the Primary Article Templates for LaTeX authors, to improve their usability, functionality, and accessibility. To ensure 100% compatibility with The ACM Publishing System (TAPS), please restrict the use of packages to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/accepted-latex-packages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">list of approved LaTeX packages<\/a> when using the Primary Article Template to your document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find more background information\nabout ACM processes at the bottom of this page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Your Submission Process\nso far<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, you have completed STEP 1 and\nSTEP 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During STEP 1, all authors submitted manuscripts for review in a single column format. Authors using Microsoft Word wrote papers using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/binaries\/content\/assets\/publications\/taps\/acm_submission_template.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"><strong>Submission Template<\/strong><\/a> (Review Submission Format), and no additional formatting was required. Authors using LaTeX wrote papers using the latest version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/binaries\/content\/assets\/publications\/consolidated-tex-template\/acmart-primary.zip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"><strong>Primary Article Template \u2013 LaTeX<\/strong><\/a>, and used the \u201cmanuscript\u201d call to create a single column format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During STEP 2, all authors submitted their\npapers, pictorials, artwork reports, posters, tool demos and graduate student\nsymposium submissions for review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, your submission has been accepted.\nAgain, congratulations. You are now at STEP 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Preparing All Accepted\nSubmissions for Publication<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>STEP 3: To ensure that your revised submission satisfies the\nreviewer comments, upload your revised submission to PCS. If your submission\nwas conditionally accepted, also submit a separate document describing the\nchanges made. Your submission should be a PDF file using the same template that\nshould have been used for the original submission for your track. The revised\nsubmission should be de-anonymized. In addition, check that the paper title,\nabstract, and all author information entered into the PCS forms are correct and\nmatch exactly what is in the submission. The deadline for submitting the\nrevised submission to PCS is May 4, 2021. You do not need to submit the video\npresentation. It will be submitted later (tentative deadline of June 1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The co-chairs of your submission track will check your submission.\nYou will receive an email if any further changes are needed. If no changes are\nneeded, the co-chairs will authorise the submission for publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once\nthe co-chairs authorize the submission for publication, you will receive an\nemail from the ACM e-Rights system. The e-Rights form will only be sent to the\ncontact author, so it is important that this person is able to respond to\nemails and complete the form. This email will come from rightsreview@acm.org.&nbsp; Please remain alert for this email after your\nacceptance notification as it may be sent to spam. Ensure that all information\nsuch as the paper title, authors names, and emails match exactly how you want\nthis to appear on your final publication. Any mismatches could delay the\npublication of your paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two separate publication processes\nfrom this stage forward. One is applied to all types of submissions apart from\npictorials. The other is applied only to pictorials. Please note your type of\nsubmission, and follow the correct process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Preparing Each Paper,\nArtwork, Poster, Technical Demonstration and GSS Submission for Publication<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>STEP 4 for authors using Microsoft Word<ins>.<\/ins> Upon <ins>notification of final<\/ins> acceptance, you <ins>should<\/ins> download the <strong>ACM Primary Article Template \u2013 Microsoft Word<\/strong>. Please choose the correct template version based on your platform: [<a href=\"https:\/\/portalparts.acm.org\/hippo\/enhanced_word_templates\/MAC_2011\/mac_2011.zip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"><strong>MAC 2011<\/strong><\/a><strong>, <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/portalparts.acm.org\/hippo\/enhanced_word_templates\/MAC_2016\/mac_2016.zip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"><strong>MAC 2016<\/strong><\/a><strong>, or <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/portalparts.acm.org\/hippo\/enhanced_word_templates\/Windows\/windows.zip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"><strong>Windows<\/strong><\/a>] and save the .zip file to your local machine. Open the zip file and save the template file to your machine and then follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/binaries\/content\/assets\/publications\/taps\/acm_primary_article_template_instructions.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">these instructions<\/a> to attach the ACM Article Template to your accepted submission version and prepare your revised submission (still in single-column format) for validation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>STEP 4 for authors using\nLaTeX: Proceed directly to <ins>STEP 5<\/ins>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>STEP 5: To submit your source file (either in WORD or LaTeX) for production processing, you will receive an email notification with instructions to upload your Camera Ready (finalized) source file set to <strong>The ACM Publishing System (TAPS)<\/strong>. Please make sure that you and your authors approve tapsadmin@aptaracorp.awsapps.com in their email settings to ensure that all messages from TAPS are received. Download <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/binaries\/content\/assets\/publications\/taps\/acm_taps.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">these instructions<\/a> for the information on how to use TAPS. TAPS will process your paper and auto-generate proofs of your article for your review. Final review and approval of your submission rests with the C&amp;C\u201921 Publication Chair. The deadline for completing this process is June 11, 2021, although the publication chair will be chasing authors to complete before this date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The output formats (the traditional PDF\nproof and a new HTML version) provide enhanced accessibility, responsive\nformatting, and reusable components (i.e., extractable math) within the HTML\noutput.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: While you may need to make corrections to the output in TAPS, you <strong>MUST <\/strong>revise the file which was uploaded to TAPS. <ins>Do NOT <\/ins>\u00a0reupload new versions of your locally kept source files.<ins> There is no requirement to update the version in PCS at this stage. Unlike other forms of submission,\npictorials should be published using the same templates that were provided for\nthe submission. ACM is currently moving to a new publications workflow for\npapers is accessibility, and pictorials authors are required to be sure that\nthey produce accessible work. Please be sure that \u201cEnable Accessibility and\nReflow with tagged Adobe PDF\u201d is checked when you create your PDF submissions\nfile. Please be sure that all images have correct associated Alt Text. Ensure that all the information, such as the paper title, abstract, and author names and affiliations listed in the PCS form are correct and match exactly the content of the paper as requested.&nbsp;There is no STEP 5 for pictorials publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For all questions regarding the publication process, please contact <a href=\"mailto:publication2021@cc.acm.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">publication2021@cc.acm.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>LaTeX Collaborative Authoring Tool on Overleaf Platform<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>ACM<\/em>&nbsp;has partnered with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.overleaf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Overleaf<\/a>, a free cloud-based, collaborative\nauthoring tool, to provide an&nbsp;<em>ACM<\/em>&nbsp;LaTeX authoring template.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Overleaf is a collaborative platform: Authors can easily invite colleagues to collaborate on their documents.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Authors can write using \u2018Rich Text mode\u2019 or regular \u2018Source Mode.\u2019 This is useful for cross-disciplinary collaboration in the cases where some authors prefer to write in LaTeX while others might prefer a Word processing format.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The platform automatically compiles the document while an author writes, so the author can see what the finished file will look like in real time.      &nbsp;<\/li><li>The template allows authors to submit manuscripts easily to<em>&nbsp;ACM<\/em>&nbsp;<em>from within the Overleaf platform.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACM LaTeX template on Overleaf platform is available to all ACM authors&nbsp; at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.overleaf.com\/gallery\/tagged\/acm-official#.WOuOk2e1taQ\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.overleaf.com\/gallery\/tagged\/acm-official#.WOuOk2e1taQ<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Best Practices<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Please see the ACM\u2019s best practices guidelines for Microsoft Word,\nLaTeX, and The ACM Publishing System (TAPS).
