Although it presents some unique challenges in getting around, much of the city is readily accessible for those with disabilities thanks to the vaporetto network, trains and buses, and specialist support services. Below is some guidance and information to help support travel to and around Venice and the conference venue.<\/p>\n<h2>To and From the Airport<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Airport has a mobile landing stage at the dock, free reserved parking, and a Sala Amica near the boarding gates in the Departures Hall for those that require assistance in traveling. More information can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veneziaairport.it\/en\/info-and-assistance\/special-assistance.html\">airport website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>To reach Venice from the Marco Polo airport you can take one of the accessible boats of Alilaguna, or a train (thanks to the assistance service), or arrive by car.<\/li>\n<li>If you are arriving by train you have to book the assistance either beforehand, or go to a Sala Blu and ask there.<\/li>\n<li>The ATVO (public transport company of the Region Veneto) offers transfers from Marco Polo Venice Airport and from the Treviso Airport to Venice and back \u2013 and has adapted vehicles for people with different disabilities, including those who use an electric wheelchair or scooter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>\u00a0<\/h6>\n<h2>Getting around Venice<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Virtually all local buses, including those on the Lido, as well as those connecting Venice with the mainland, are wheelchair accessible.<\/li>\n<li>The monorail is also wheelchair accessible.<\/li>\n<li>An \u2018Accessible Venice\u2019 map is available from the tourist office or online at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comune.venezia.it\/sites\/comune.venezia.it\/files\/page\/files\/mappa%20Italiano%20Inglese%202017_1.pdf\">V\u00e8nezia Unica<\/a>.
