The conference brings together artists and scientists, designers, educators, and researchers. We seek to understand human creativity in its many manifestations, to design new interactive techniques and tools to augment and amplify human creativity, and to use computational media technologies to explore new creative processes and artifacts in all human endeavours ranging from the arts to science, from design to education.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The goal of workshops is to advance creativity and cognition research and break new ground by fostering discussions, collaborations, and innovative experiences from different areas. Constraints can spark creativity. This year, our workshops face the constraint of being virtual. This constrains what is possible, but opens up new possibilities for \u201cwhen\u201d is possible: for example, we might relax the constraint that the workshop happens all on one day, and distribute it across a few days, perhaps with pre-workshop activities in the week or so leading up to the workshops day. We especially welcome proposals on work that can bring people together across space, place, and time. We welcome proposals from professional practitioners.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Workshop organizers can host the workshops using technology they believe is best suited for the planned format and topic of their workshop. There need not be a single standard. Proposals should specify the technology and tools that will be used to conduct the workshop in a virtual space. Proposals should also describe the timing and format of the workshops, and how the organizers are planning to accommodate participants from different time zones. We encourage proposal submissions to review the ACM\u2019s references for organizing accessible conferences (e.g., SIGACCESS\u2019s Accessible Conference Guide). The Creativity &amp; Cognition 2023 Accessibility Chair (Franklin Mingzhe Li: accessibility2023@cc.acm.org) will work closely with this year\u2019s Workshop Co-Chairs in welcoming questions, feedback, or guidance related to making workshops accessible.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Organizers should plan on promoting their event among their own peer networks and on mailing lists, including practitioner and professional groups if relevant. The event will also be published on the conference website. Workshop organizers are responsible for producing any publications of any workshop proceedings, if desired. Workshops may be cancelled or combined if there is insufficient participation.<\/p>\n<p>Other notes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Evaluation:<\/b> Content is rigorously juried by the committee for suitability as a workshop and interest to the community.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Date:<\/b> Workshops will run for a full day on Monday, June 19th, 2023, which is the day before the main conference track.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Engagement:<\/b> We encourage submissions which offer interactive and participatory methods, and who aim to engage the wider community in the field. We encourage submissions which seek to go beyond solely academic audiences, for example through engaging practitioners. \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Format and Submission Details<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>In keeping with new SIGCHI guidelines, there is no formal page limit; however, we encourage authors to adhere to the typical level of conciseness of workshop submissions (approximately 4,000-5,000 words, excluding captions and references, in single-column format in the new ACM SIGCHI template).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The submission should include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Title, name(s) of organizer(s) and affiliations<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Topic and distinctive characteristics of the workshop<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Relevance and significance of this topic to the community<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">What deliverables or outcomes are anticipated?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Workshop tentative schedule (how it will be run?)<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Technology and tools that will be used to conduct the workshop in a virtual space<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Anticipated audience, proposed channels for promoting and marketing it<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Include the bio of the organizers, highlighting their background and achievements related to the proposed topic<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">If you require any technical or specialist equipment, indicate clearly if you will be supplying it yourself or whether other arrangements need to be made.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Seeking Help<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It is important that your submission is formatted correctly. Incorrectly formatted submissions might be rejected. Online guidance is available from the ACM <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/authors\/submissions\">here<\/a>. Examples of formatted submissions to C&amp;C 2022 can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1t-6YPw-Adg6PH2yOt7Wq4XkOLhk_hFzP\">here<\/a>.
