The conference brings together artists and scientists, designers, educators, and researchers. We seek to understand human creativity in its many manifestations, to design new interactive techniques and tools to augment and amplify human creativity, and to use computational media technologies to explore new creative processes and artifacts in all human endeavors ranging from the arts to science, from design to education.

The goal of workshops is to advance creativity and cognition research and break new ground by fostering discussions, collaborations, and innovative experiences.

This year’s overall conference theme is organic creative spaces, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Organic Architecture. Defined as both a philosophy and a practice in the architecture discipline, organic architecture uses minimalist forms, materials, spaces and design considerations that blend with their natural environments. These may vary from the digital sphere (Gather in 2023) to a physical one (a gallery space in 2024), but both platforms encourage the re-invention, re-interpretation, and re-situating of materials to span our most occupied creative spaces and the way they are realized in community and collective practice. With this year’s theme, we especially welcome workshop proposals that delve into the ways creative endeavors find resonance in our surroundings, reflecting the intricate relationship between the environment and creative expression. We seek to discover sustainable ways that creativity and nature can harmoniously coexist, while also acknowledging the profound influence of communities and cultures in shaping space. We invite proposals from academics, artists, and professional practitioners.

We encourage proposal submissions to review the ACM’s references for organizing accessible conferences (e.g., SIGACCESS’s Accessible Conference Guide).
