Cognition is a multi-disciplinary conference covering a broad range of topics. The conference brings together artists and scientists, designers, educators, and researchers. We seek to understand human creativity in its many manifestations, to design new interactive techniques and tools to augment and amplify human creativity, and to use computational media technologies to explore new creative processes and artifacts in all human endeavors ranging from the arts to science, from design to education. <b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"h3-title\">Tutorials<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"content\">\n    <div class=\"text\">\n<p>Tutorials allow C&amp;C attendees, including practitioners who might not usually attend an academic conference, to extend their knowledge beyond their current area(s) of expertise. The aim is that they help people to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Explore new methods, techniques, and practices,<\/li>\n<li>Develop new skills in order to innovate, and<\/li>\n<li>Become inspired to pursue new ideas.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Participants will include creative professionals who can utilize the rich knowledge that the C&amp;C communities have applied in their businesses and organizations, including industry managers, practitioners, students, and researchers. Tutorials can be designed for novices, experts, or audiences with general interest (the expected audience should be clear in the proposal).<\/p>\n<p>We encourage submissions that offer interactive and participatory methods, and which aim to engage the wider community in the field. We encourage submissions that seek beyond solely academic audiences, for example, through engaging practitioners.<\/p>\n<p><b>What\u2019s the difference between a Tutorial and a Workshop?&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Tutorials are run by expert instructors, typically with established reputations, teaching people who are new to a topic or who want to align or intersect their practice with the latest academic research.&nbsp; In contrast, workshops are meetings of experts exploring new knowledge together.<\/p>\n<p><b>How are submissions evaluated? <\/b> Content is rigorously judged by the committee for suitability as a tutorial, and interest to the community.<\/p>\n<p><b> When do tutorials occur? <\/b> Tutorials will run for a full or half day on June 23, 2025, which is the day before the main conference track and will be online.<\/p>\n<p><b>Example from the previous year<\/b> : <a href=\"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/10.1145\/3635636.3661291\"> https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/10.1145\/3635636.3661291 <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The submission must include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Title<\/li>\n<li>Name(s) of organizer(s) and affiliations<\/li>\n<li>Topic and distinctive characteristics of the tutorial<\/li>\n<li>Relevance and significance of this topic to the community<\/li>\n<li>Tutorial tentative schedule (how it will be run?)<\/li>\n<li>Anticipated audience, proposed channels for promoting and marketing it<\/li>\n<li>Length: full day or half day<\/li>\n<li>Number of intended participants (maximum and minimum)<\/li>\n<li>Bios of the organizers, highlighting their background and achievements related to the proposed topic<\/li>\n<li><b>Online delivery requirements<\/b> : note any hardware\/software requirements for the attendees..<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"h3-title\">Format<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"content\">\n    <div class=\"text\">\n<ul>\n<li><b>Length: <\/b> In keeping with new SIGCHI guidelines, there is no formal page limit. Authors should adhere to the typical level of conciseness of tutorial submissions (approximately 4,000-5,000 words, excluding captions and references).<\/li>\n<li><b>Format:<\/b> Submissions must be prepared using the <a href=\"https:\/\/authors.acm.org\/proceedings\/production-information\"> ACM submission template <\/a> (Latex and Word templates are available) in single-column format.<\/li>\n<li><b>Seeking Help with Formatting: <\/b> It is important that your submission is formatted correctly.
