The ACM Creativity and Cognition Conference (C&C) is a biennial conference attracting 100-250 delegates to the main (single-track) conference, and up to 80 delegates for workshops and tutorial prior to the conference. C&C also hosts and organizes an interactive art exhibition and performances which run in parallel with the conference. We strive to encourage lively interdisciplinary debate exploring methods, tools, and theories to support human creativity in all its different forms. The C&C conference is being held in San Diego, CA in June 2019. Links to prior conferences are archived on the 2019 conference site.
For those interested in hosting C&C 2021, please email your proposal document to the C&C Steering committee by 30 May 2019. The proposal should address the aspects described below. Prospective organizers can request examples of prior proposals by sending the request to the C&C Steering committee.
Who will be the core team of organizers for the conference and what roles will they take? (e.g. General chair, Program chair(s), Local chair, Treasurer, Art Chair, Posters and demonstrations, Tutorials, Doctoral consortium, Workshops, etc.)
Please note: to reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the conference we recommend a strong General Chair. In the past we have had multidisciplinary co-chairs to reflect the broad audience for C&C e.g. Design+Psychology+Art+Tech co-chairs, who should have been closely involved in C&C and conference organization in the past. Also, ACM requires that as a minimum, the General Chair should be, or be willing to become, members of the ACM.
Please note - Creativity and Cognition conferences are sponsored by the ACM, so you will need to liaise with the ACM about budgets and underwriting the conference. The conference is expected to break even financially or return a surplus. We should be able to provide examples of previous financial planning documents as will be required by the ACM.
